Synopsis
A one-character drama about Joseph de Veuster, Father Damien, a Roman Catholic priest who came to the Hawaiian Islands in the late nineteenth century to work with the lepers confined on the island of Molokai. After serving his beloved lepers for sixteen years, Damien himself caught the disease and died in 1889 at the age of 49. Father Damien is presently under consideration for sainthood by the Vatican.
