Synopsis

An examination of the Israeli/Palestinian conflict. Three films by independent filmmakers, partisans of each given viewpoint, are presented: "Two Settlements: Etzion and Hebron," "Peace Conflict," and "Occupied Palestine." The program is an experiment in "free speech television," in which viewpoints, not always popular mainstream opinion, are given free expression. The program's format, created by KQED-TV in San Francisco, has been dubbed "Theme Night." Individual PBS stations can localize the program by inserting their own host, follow-up report, and studio discussion.
