Synopsis

In Part 1, North Korea stages a surprise attack on the South on June 25, 1950 which catches U.N. forces off guard and forces them to fight with their backs to the sea. Part 2 examines General Douglas McArthur's successful counteroffensive at Inchon. Part 3 tells the story of the longest and most brutal retreat in U.S. military history, and in Part 4, President Truman relieves General McArthur from command and a stalemate ensues, resulting in two years of bloody fighting as both sides work out a peace plan.
