Synopsis
A musical based on the German fable about Androcles, a meek Christian tailor who crosses the path of an injured lion and removes a painful thorn from its paw. Later, when Androcles and a group of Christians are captured by the Romans and destined to be eaten by lions in the Coliseum, his life is spared by the lion who recognizes him as the "friend" who helped him in a time of need.
