Synopsis

Documentary exploring five different families living outside of what society considers the "normal" family structure, including the stories of a lesbian who fought to regain custody of her child from her recently deceased partner's parents (the family portrayed in the Lifetime original movie "What Makes a Family"), Marilyn and Randy Nolen, 55-year-old heterosexual couple from Missouri who were able to have twins with the help of a fertility clinic; Robert Klose from Maine, a single heterosexual man who adopted a Russian-born boy.
