Synopsis
As the 1800s draw to a close, beautiful Naples villager Francesca wins the heart of Prince Giordano Montorsi, and the couple are married. Years later, Francesca is managing the Montorsi fortune and running the family pasta factory. A good businesswoman, Francesca trains her adopted daughter Nunziata in the art of the family trade. But hard times fall, and a financial coup leaves the Montorsi fortune drained. Francesca is forced to try and marry off her son Federico and daughter Nunziata to wealthy families. Faced with this news, Federico and Nunziata unhappily reveal that they are lovers and do not want to marry out.
