Part 2, "The Fighters," traces the development of three U.S. planes: the F-111, a fighter bomber; the YF-12, an interceptor; and the F-20, a dogfighter. Part 3, "The Carriers," examines how the aircraft carrier aided Navy jets as they engaged in action in Tokyo, the Battles of Midway and Leyte Gulf, and Vietnam. Part 4, "Air Strike," examines air-to-ground combat, from the early maneuvers of World War I Sopwiths and World War II's De Havillands to Desert Storm's A-10 Warthogs and Apaches.
