Synopsis

Miniseries that focuses on the aftermath of a powerful earthquake that leaves New York City in ruins. After the quake, former Fire Chief Thomas Ahearn, Mayor Bruce Lincoln and New York City managers try to put an emergency plan into action as they attempt to find their missing loved ones. The mayor's mother, Rose, lies pinned beneath a huge beam in a church basement with a young street kid. The mayor's daughter Evie is trapped underground with a diverse group of people in a subway tunnel quickly filling with water. Ahearn's daughter Christine is in another part of town, buried beneath the rubble in a quake-ravaged high school. Young mother Dori Thorell begins a treacherous crosstown journey to try to find her young son who is trapped high up in a school building that is threatening to collapse. Meanwhile, a young dancer and an immigrant cab driver bond when they find themselves thrown together by the catastrophe around them.
