A documentary which profiles the Marshall Plan, one of the most successful diplomatic initiatives ever undertaken by this country. Also known as the European Recovery Program (ERP), the Marshall Plan was a program of U.S. economic aid to Europe in the post-World War II period, as put forth by George C. Marshall, the U.S. Secretary of State. The documentary commemorates the 40th anniversary of Marshall's plan. In addition to taking an extensive look at the Marshall Plan, the program also contains segments on the Berlin Airlift, the creation of NATO, and the building of the Berlin Wall. Also included is archival footage and newsreel, and interviews with participants in the great events that occured during the post-World War II years.
