Synopsis
Documentary about the men and women of "bomb squads," who put their lives on the line so that others may live. The program opens with New York City's NYPD Bomb Squad, and follows the team as they respond to countless calls of suspicious packages left on subways and buses, while unit veterans discuss the largest case in the department's history -- the February 1993 World Trade Center Bombing. Also, the program travels to Tel Aviv and Jerusalem to learn how the world's most beleaguered bomb squads have had to refine their skills and redefine their mission in response to the terrorist suicide bomber. Next, the program visits Belfast and South Armagh, as the Royal Ulster Constabulary's elite EOD unit responds to car-bombs, improvised explosive booby-traps and minefield ambushes.
