Synopsis
Bob Vila travels to the region known as the Veneto in Venice, Italy, home to 16th-century Italian architect Andrea Palladio, who started an architectural revolution there. Bob Vila visits pre-Palladian Villa Giustinian, a Renaissance palace, as well as Palladio's own Villas: Villa Pisani, an homage to the temples of ancient Rome; Villa Cornaro, the house that inspired Thomas Jefferson's conception of Monticello; Villa Barbo, filled with Renaissance frescoes and sculptures; Villa Emo, the most dramatic farmhouse ever built; and La Rocca Pisana, a belvedere atop a hill with a bird's-eye view of the Veneto.
