Synopsis

Documentary on the New Orleans criminal justice system. Part 1, "See No Evil," examines the case of Edward Jackson, a New Orleans resident who was shot and killed in his yard while watering banana trees. For many years, he had fought to rid his neighborhood streets of drug dealers. Shortly before his murder, he had called 911 to report narcotics activity and his wife believes he was murdered in retaliation. Neighborhood kid Jonas Lang is arrested for the murder. The case moves to the district attorney's office where it is prepared for trial under the supervision of Assistant District Attorney Margaret Hay. Part 2, "Searching For Clues," follows homicide investigators from New Orleans' District One. After a shootout over drugs, three young men drive up to the front door of Charity Hospital -- one is dead and another is clinging to life. The detectives take the car to the forensics "cage" where they discover surprising evidence. In another case, the detectives are on the scene at the murder of a storeowner killed in a hold-up.
