Synopsis
Dave Purcell is ready to call it quits. On his marriage and on his restaurant "The Auk". The restaurant, which like the ill-fated bird for which it was named, has definitely seen better days. Everything changes when Dave's neighbor Phonse proposes a mad and ingenious scheme to save the restaurant. They'll report a sighting of an extremely rare (believed extinct) duck. Birder-watchers the world over will flock to the area and, hopefully, to the restaurant. To the skeptical Dave's dismay, the plan works to perfection. Business booms. Things become complicated; however, when Dave falls for Phonse's alluring sister-in-law and when he discovers that Phonse has been up to some other wild tricks.
