Synopsis
Television movie based on Mitch Albom's book about his reunion with his former sociology professor Morrie Schwartz. Mitch Albom lives life in the fast lane. He's an accomplished sportswriter for the "Detroit Free Press"; he jets across the country from one sports event to the next; and his fiancee, Janine, is crazy about him. That all changes when a chance viewing of Ted Koppel's interview with Morrie Schwartz on "Nightline" leads Mitch to reconnect with his old college professor and mentor. Mitch makes contact only to discover that Morrie is dying from ALS (Lou Gehrig's disease). One visit turns into weekly "Tuesdays With Morrie" give-and-take sessions in which Morrie challenges Mitch to re-evaluate his priorities and his assumptions about success. Their rekindled relationship turns into one final "seminar": Lessons in how to live.
