Synopsis

Told entirely in the words of the people who lived it, a chronicle of the rise and fall of an enigmatic, unconventional, yet classically American business enterprise... In 1993, Death Row records exploded onto the music scene and quickly came to dominate a music genre specializing in hard edge stories from the ghetto. Death Row made superstars of artists such as Dr. Dre, Tupac Shakur, and Snoop Doggy Dogg. The label also released an unprecedented six consecutive multi-platinum albums. But by 1996, its aggressive and violent business practices, controversial artists, and drug money allegations made it a prime FBI target.
