Synopsis
The story of the talented boxer Gabriel Jesus Sandoval Chavez who finds his rise to the world championship cut short when he is deported for a crime committed in his youth. Chavez must now face two battles--the fight to return to his family and his career in the U.S., and the battle for acceptance in his birth land of Mexico. His dilemma is shared by many families affected by strict immigration laws passed in 1996 that require deportation of non-citizens with criminal records... To date, in the year 2000, Chavez still lives in Mexico at the home of his grandparents and waits for a decision by the INS.
