Elizabeth Leustig, original casting director, died December 19, 1995 in Moscow as a result of a hit-and-run.

Leslie Charteris's character Simon Templar/The Saint was first seen on the screen in the nine-film RKO Radio Pictures series (1938-53), starring Louis Hayward in the first and final installments and George Sanders in the others. The first "The Saint" television series aired in syndication (1963-66) and on NBC-TV (1967-69), starring Roger Moore. A subsequent series, "Return of the Saint" (1979-80) aired on CBS-TV starring Ian Ogilvy. CBS-TV, as part of the "CBS Summer Playhouse," aired a one hour pilot called "The Saint" (1987) starring Andrew Clarke.
