Synopsis
What do Jack Valenti and a Socialist U.S. Representative have in common? Or Conan O'Brien and People Magazine? Or how about the tenor in Trent Lott's Singing Senators and the bass player for Phish? They have all been captivated by Fred Tuttle. Who is Fred Tuttle? In this dreary Bill-Bob-Ross election season, Fred is the star of the independent political comedy "Man With a Plan." The movie tells the story of Yankee farmer Fred Tuttle, who has spent a lifetime squeezing milk and a meager living from his cows. Unfortunately, Fred and his farm are falling apart. He is desperate for a high-paying job that requires no qualifications. The answer: U.S. Congress! The movie covers Fred's grass-roots campaign ("I've spent my whole life in the barn, now I want to spend a little time in the House!") against the prime-time six term incumbent who is endorsed by both major parties. While the movie is fictional, Fred is not!
