Synopsis
When a charismatic and messianic preacher arrives in a small Swedish village, the lives of the two young lovers are torn apart. As the converted villagers begin to sell all their earthly belongings and move to the Holy Land, the young man and woman face devastating choices that will alter their lives forever.

Selma Lagerlof's (1858-1940) novel, written around the turn of the century, was a fictionalized tale inspired by the real-life story of Swedish-American revivalist movement leader Olof Henrik Larsson, who lead a group of forty Swedes to Palestine.
Following the film's theatrical release, it will air on Scandinavian television as a three-part movie.
