Synopsis
Over a period of incredibly creative years, Walt Disney and his artists transformed animation from a crude cartoon to one of the greatest achievements in cinema. Believable characters that came to life on the screen were the hallmark of these classic films, and in picture after picture, some of the most sublime acting ever to follow from a pen was done by two star members of Disney's original team, Frank Thomas and Ollie Johnston. Thomas' filmmaker son Theodore traces the remarkable friendship and collaborative relationship of Frank and Ollie whose sixty-plus year association has provided the world with stories and images that have endured for generations.

A 43-year veteran in animation at Disney, Ollie Johnston gave the illusion of life to some of the most endearing animated characters to ever appear on screen. His ability to communicate his humor and sensitivity through pencil drawings earned him a spot as one of Walt Disney's "Nine Old Men." Among his creations--Thumper's "eating greens" recitation ("Bambi"), Pinocchio's growing nose as he lies to the Blue Fairy and the musical antics of Baloo and Mowgli as they sing "The Bare Necessities" in "The Jungle Book."
