Synopsis
Martin, divorced and living a lonely existence, develops a relationship with Susie, a regular fare who needs a place to stay when she quits her job dancing at a topless bar. Jimmy, a smoother operator, meets Jennifer an uninhibited college student, new to the city. Both romances run their course against a backdrop of humorous episodes revolving around New York cab life. While Martin finds a companion in Susie, Jimmy's relationship with Jennifer is essentially a sexual one, until Jimmy's wife confronts him. Meanwhile, the insecure Martin, has a problem understanding what Susie sees in him, fretting that he is setting himself up for a fall. Things come to a head at an end-of-summer barbecue held at Jimmy's Long Island home.
