Synopsis

Set in 1987, the year of the Contra rebels' assault against the Sandinista government in Nicaragua, a love story which begins on a bus in Glasgow and ends amid the gunfire and explosions of war in Nicaragua. George is a free-spirited Scottish bus driver struggling against the conventionality and bureaucracy of his blue collar life. His encounter with Carla, a beautiful Nicaraguan refugee who is mourning her past and pining for her homeland, sweeps him headlong into a journey of self-discovery and political awareness.
