Synopsis

In the first decade of the new millennium, with advances in technology overtaking the sovereignty of human compassion, Richard Martin buys a gift, a new NDR-114 robot. The product, an android, is named Andrew by the youngest of the family's children. This adaptation of Isaac Asimov's short story takes a look at the life and times of this android--Bicentennial Man--who is initially purchased as a household robot programmed to perform menial tasks. The Martin family quickly learns that they don't have an ordinary robot as Andrew begins to experience emotions and creative thought. In a story that spans two centuries, Andrew learns the intricacies of humanity, life and love.
