Synopsis
A foreigner with an advance to write a book on prosititutes moves into a seedy hotel in New York's Hell's Kitchen neighborhood. With typewriter and tape recorder in hand, he begins interviewing prostitutes and the occasional pimp in order to better understand their motivations. Although he never learns what is so fascinating about them, he does become involved in the lives of two of them.
