Synopsis
Fifteen years have passed since Tim, Flo, Maik, Hotte, Nele, and Terror lived together as anarchists in an occupied building in Berlin in the 1980s, making films and giving the bourgeois establishment their collective middle finger. This period of creative anarchy appears to have been the best time of their lives, but times have changed. Only the charismatic Tim and the wheelchair-bound Hotte have remained true to their former ideals. Maik is now the director of a successful advertising agency, Nele is making her way through life as a single mother, Flo is engaged, and Terror is well on his way to establishing his career as a public prosecutor--of all things. In the New Berlin, their paths have not crossed in many years, but when a long-since forgotten, homemade bomb they had planted in an empty mansion in Grunewald in 1987 explodes unexpectedly, the past catches up with them. Though reluctant, the six former friends meet again to stage a high-stakes heist to steal the film footage of their bomb-making, and escape the grasp of relentless police detective Manowsky. To the group, however, facing their repressed past is an even greater challenge than saving their skins. They are forced to confront such issues as whether they have chosen the right path in life, and what has become of their shared vision for a better world.
