Synopsis

Set in the future, Metropolis is a grand city-state populated by humans and robots, the co-habitants of a strictly segmented society. In the late 1940s, legendary illustrator Osamu Tezuka created the classic manga "Metropolis", upon which the movie is based. Tezuka's manga was itself inspired by director Fritz Lang's classic film "Metropolis" (Germany/1926).
