Synopsis

Because of his pitching skill, Jim Kelly, a bush-leaguer, is signed with the New York Yankees, but he soon becomes egotistic and conceited over his victories, with the result that the team fails to give him support and the club begins to fall apart. The team mascot, Mickey Martin, is hurt in an accident when Kelly, who has had a falling out with Macklin, the manager, is pitching his last game in the World Series. Mickey is wheeled to the game from the hospital; and at the last minute Kelly comes through, saves the day with a home run, and wins the heart of Mary Munson.
