Brief Synopsis

Mel is a soda jerk in love with wannabe actress Peggy. Peggy goes to Hollywood, where she does indeed become a movie star, but her heart still belongs to ordinary guy Mel.

Synopsis

Going to Hollywood in an attempt to break into the movies, Peggy marries Mel, a personable but gullible soda jerk. Mel later buys some worthless oil stock from Charlie, a discredited sometime assistant director who makes a play for Peggy, persuading her that he will make her a star. Mel and Peggy eventually learn the truth about Charlie, and Mel thrashes him in a fight.
