Synopsis

Marat is a chauffeur in Almaty, a sprawling city in Kazakhstan. When he runs into the Mercedes of a local nouveau riche, Marat's life sprials into a frightening nightmare. The cost of repairs is beyond Marat's means, leaving him with one solution: he must borrow the money from a Mafia gang-leader, paying usurious interest on the loan. Harassed by his creditor, Marat ends up accepting a "contract": the cancelling of his debt in return of the killing of a journalist. Thus, he becomes a "contract killer."
