Synopsis

In Innsbruck at the end of World War II Sgt. Chips Slater's Intelligence and Research Platoon of the 103 Division is ordered to locate Martin Truppe, a German scientist partial to the Allies and needed for the Manhattan Project. Unknown to Slater, Major Skorch of the SS is also looking for Truppe to execute him for sabotaging Peenemünde. Elena, Truppe's daughter, is brought from the United States to help the Americans identify her father. Suffering several casualties in skirmishes with Skorch's men, they trail Skorch to a labor camp. The SS officer locates Truppe near Lake Blauberg, but an angry mob of escaped camp laborers kill Skorch. Truppe is rescued, and the I & R platoon survives the last day of the war.
