Synopsis
Documentary focuses on the last months in the lives of Martin Luther King Jr. and Robert Kennedy. Kennedy's political journey took him from the right-wing agenda of Joe McCarthy to the liberal policies of John F. Kennedy. After his brother's death, Kennedy became increasingly concerned about civil rights, economic equality and an end to the war in Vietnam. In 1968, King, who had been seen exclusively as a civil rights leader, reached out to embrace a broader ideology that challenged the country's economic status quo and called for a cease fire in Vietnam. Assassins' bullets brought an end to their lives and their dreams. King was assassinated while standing on the balcony of his hotel on April 4, 1968. Two months later, Kennedy was killed on June 4, 1968, in Los Angeles just after giving a speech celebrating victory in the California Democratic primary.
