An egg rolls into Sniffles house and when it hatches he adopts the bird thinking it is a chicken. As the bird grows up Sniffles discovers it is actually a hawk. Since hawks eat rodents Sniffles becomes very scared. The hawk tries to eat him several times but decides against it and tells Sniffles there is a certain kind of hawk that doesn't eat rodents so they become friends again.
