Synopsis

Texas Ranger Tim Barrett goes to Carabinas to help a fellow Ranger, Frank Newport, but shortly after his arrival, gets involved in another set of problems when he saves Polly Lumas' life during a barroom shootout with saloonkeeper Nick Grindell. Sheriff Purdy explains to Tim that Grindell married Polly's mother and that when she died, she willed everything to Grindell, leaving Polly and her brother Dick penniless. Tim suspects that the will was forged, and begins to investigate Grindell and his partners, Chapman and Warden. When Grindell is found dead, Polly and Dick both confess to the crime, each believing the other is guilty. Tim, however, knows they are innocent, and arrests Warden as the murderer, but allows him to escape from jail and follows him to a secret cellar in the Lucas ranch house. There, Tim discovers that Grindell is alive and that he murdered Frank Newport, disfiguring his face and substituting his body for his own. Tim kills Grindell in a gunfight, and Chapman confesses to forging the Lumas will. Tim and Polly are reunited and look forward to a new life together.
