Synopsis

Three prospectors--Senn, Taylor, and Hayden--divide and bury their gold to safeguard it from warring Apache Indians. Senn guns down Taylor as he rides away but permits Hayden to live, since he is the only one who knows the way back. The Indians attack and force the two men to abandon their horses, but Taylor's riderless horse appears and Senn shoots Hayden and rides off to the nearest settlement. Hayden is revived by Ming, a young Chinese girl who hopes that he will take her to San Francisco. Meanwhile, Senn tells bounty hunter Jake Fry that he saw Hayden murder Taylor, and the two men agree to share the $1,000 reward for Hayden's capture. Fry tracks down Hayden and Ming, while Senn goes off in search of the gold. After locking Hayden in jail, Fry forces Ming to take him to the buried gold. Hayden manages to escape and rescues Ming from Fry, who sets off a dynamite charge and unwittingly reduces the gold to dust. Senn goes berserk upon discovering the destruction and attacks Ming, but Hayden shoots him and leaves with Ming. [One source states that Senn attacks Hayden.]
