Synopsis
While Bridget is bathing her baby three men storm into her apartment and shoot police officer husband dead. Bridget shoots back, killing two of the men, but one manages to escape. While she calls the police from a public telephone, baby Clarence crawls out onto the road. Bridget dashes out to save her son from an approaching car and is knocked down herself. She wakes up in hospital where she learns that her son has been taken away from her - on account of her criminal record. Try as she might to get a hold on her life and convince the authorities that she is a good mother, Bridget can't help but get into trouble once more.
