Synopsis
At age thirty-five, Hideo is still a manga artist's assistant. Increasingly frustrated by his lack of ambition, Hideo's girlfriend, Tekko, kicks him out. Days later, Hideo tries to apologize to Tekko, but it turns out that she has been infected by a mysterious virus that turns humans into ZQN, and attacks him. With a shotgun in hand, Hideo flees Tokyo. The city is overrun with people infected with the virus. Amid the panic, Hideo meets up with high school student Hiromi, and together they try to coordinate an escape plan. Hideo and Hiromi seek refuge, along with other survivors, on the roof of a shopping mall where they must shoot ZQNs on sight. Will Hideo be able to protect Hiromi and find a cure for the virus?
