Synopsis
Jakarta. Sari works in a cheap beauty salon and Alek makes a living by making subtitles for pirated DVDs. When she decides to complain about the poor translation on one of her pirated movies, she meets Alek and the two fall in love. Following, Sari's boss asks her to go to prison to give a facial treatment to an inmate -- a well-connected woman who is doing time for a graft case. When she arrives at the prison, instead of a dirty prison cell, she discovers a clean, well-equipped room with an air conditioner, a home theater, and a DVD collection. After stealing a DVD from the inmate's collection, Sari and Alek discover it contains a recording of deals involving the well-connected individuals and some closest aides of one of the current presidential candidates. In a country where corrupt government officials and lawmakers always prevail, people like Sari and Alek have little hope to survive.
