When a squad of daring Americans crashes into German-occupied Belgium during the Battle of the Bulge, mission leader Captain John Myers finds an unlikely romance with beautiful half-Belgian Alina, who risks her life to assist the Americans. But when German commandant Braun's wife is badly wounded, Braun enters into a risky "Christmas Truce" with the recently captured Americans, who have the only medic in the area. Braun promises the Americans 24 hours to recoup and regroup -- in exchange for his wife's life. During their brief respite from war, he winds up forming a bond with Myers that will change -- and save -- both their lives.
