Based on play "The Lady in the Van" written by Alan Bennett which was directed by Nicholas Hytner, starred Maggie Smith and premiered at the Queen's Theatre in London in December, 1999. It was also included in the book "A Box of Alan Bennett" published by Profile in 2000, and produced on the radio on February 21, 2009 on BBC Radio 4, with Maggie Smith reprising her role and Bennett playing himself.
