Synopsis

Six men from the battered "Crazy Fox" convoy are sent to find a North Korean gun emplacement blocking the path of the convoy along a winding mountain road. Young Lieutenant Collins leads the scouting party; personal conflicts make the mission more difficult. Among the men who form the group is Sergeant Walsh, accused of breaking down under fire. Lieutenant Collins is killed in the fighting, and Walsh, who has apparently suffered another breakdown, takes command as the group sets out to find Field Hospital 101. They meet an army ambulance known as the "Iron Angel," driven by Nurse Fleming. Fresh from the States, she insists on following every rule in her regulations handbook. After a skirmish with an enemy patrol, they find a map showing a second gun emplacement directly in the path of the convoy. In a race against time, they struggle to knock out the heavily guarded gun. Hindered by Nurse Fleming's intransigence, they lose several men in the effort.
