Daniel Algrant is a graduate of the MFA program in directing and screenwriting at Columbia University in New York City where he made the short films "Film for Joe Papp" and "Swimming." Algrant made a number of earlier shorts while studying at Harvard University, including "Grandma Ida," "Sandy," "Some Film Chopping Wood," "Anything for Jazz," "Paper for Religion 109" and "The First Dance Ever."
