Synopsis

Following the death of his millionaire parents in a plane crash teenager Bobby Chalmers is placed in the care of his prim Aunt Theodora and bodyguard Rocky, an ex-fighter. Because the youngster is fond of music, his aunt allows him to pick out hit records for disc jockeys to play on a family-owned radio station. One day Bobby cuts a demonstration record of a song he has written and signs a phony name to it. Bambi, a girl who works in the record-file department and with whom Bobby is in love, hears the disc, likes it, and plays it at a community dance. Bambi forces Bobby to admit being the vocalist when the record is declared a smash hit. Requests for the record pour in, and a talent scout becomes interested in Bobby; whereupon Aunt Theodora, fearful of notoriety, tells the family trustees to sell the radio station. Then Bobby learns he has been drafted and will be 21--and his own boss--by the time he is discharged. The news softens Aunt Theodora, and she gives Bobby a huge going-away party for all his friends.
