Synopsis

Johann Aradi, a famous concert pianist with a reputation of being a great lover, is delighted to learn that Ninette Cavallar, the youthful daughter of his salon hostess, has fallen in love with him, but discovering that Ninette is only 16, he discourages her love and tries to promote the suit of Giulio Roberti, her youthful admirer. Ninette continues to cherish her love for Aradi, however, and to discourage Roberti. Aradi gives a wild party, to which he invites Ninette, and he succeeds in making himself disgusting to her by his actions during a drunken orgy. Roberti arrives to rescue Ninette from Aradi's passionate advances and challenges him to a duel in which Aradi allows himself to be wounded in the hand. Ninette realizes her love for Roberti, while Aradi, unable thereafter to play the piano, finds solace in his lady friends.
