Synopsis
Nuclear scientists Tom Endicott, Dr. Morris, and Marcia Paxton are flying to Washington, D. C., for discussions with Pentagon officials on testing a powerful super-bomb they have developed. En route their plane suddenly soars into space at such a dizzying pace that all the passengers except the three scientists lose consciousness. When the plane stops, the trio find themselves on a cloud-shrouded plateau far beyond the earth's atmosphere. They are confronted by a mysterious figure who leads them before a jury representing the unborn generations of the future. After being accused of plotting to devastate the earth, the scientists are sentenced to remain forever suspended in time. A sage intervenes, however, to remind the jury that its decision will have no effect on the fate of mankind, since only prayer can save the human race. The three scientists are permitted to reboard the plane and miraculously land in Washington. At first the scientists believe that they have experienced a hallucination, but when they realize they are 24 hours overdue, they destroy their plans for the super-bomb and vow never to talk of their strange adventure.
