Synopsis
In the Spanish resort town of San Carlos Colonel Roberts hires Cliff and The Shadows to entertain his guests, but the group arrives to find the town deserted. Burke, the colonel's assistant, explains that an American plane has lost a "Mighty Mini" bomb in the ocean, and the tourists have fled the area. Stranded, the boys make friends with Emelia, who tells them that the villagers are concerned about the fate of their annual fiesta. The colonel and Burke, in the meantime, have agreed to help a foreign power locate the bomb and, under instructions from a mysterious Mr. X, have installed microphones in all the hotel rooms. Unknown to the colonel, his gruff housekeeper, Mrs. Bragg, is sending her own messages to the British secret services. After Cliff and The Shadows have lured the Americans out of town, the real bomb is found in the kitchen of Emelia's grandmother, who has mistaken it for a gas cylinder. Cliff reports the discovery to the Americans, but his story is considered another ruse, and he and The Shadows are thrown into jail. They escape, rescue Mrs. Bragg from the colonel, and race to Emelia's grandmother's house. The bomb, however, is already in the hands of the colonel and Burke, who are driving one of the flowered parade floats. Cliff substitutes a fake bomb for the real one; and Mr. X, the colonel, and Burke abscond with the imitation. The real "Mighty Mini" is safely delivered by Cliff and his group to the police.
