A couple's honeymoon in Mississippi turns tragic when the wife, Caroline, is raped by a hairy beast. This results in a pregnancy, but Caroline gives birth to a seemingly normal boy who is named Michael. When Michael turns seventeen, he begins to have strange feelings, and his parents return to Mississippi to see if the problems have something to do with the way he was conceived. Once there, Michael becomes an insect-like beast, killing and devouring innocent people.
