Synopsis

United States Army scout Rod Farrell and his sidekick Wichita are sent to investigate Kiowa Indians who are interfering with the building of a telegraph line in the West. On the way to the Indian camp, Rod discovers horse shoe tracks, indicating a white man's horse. Rod questions Chief High Wolf, who explains his tribe is against the telegraph and the railroad because they will bring soldiers and frighten the buffalo. Trader Keo Lynch encourages this belief because without the railroad, he has a monopoly on trade goods brought into the area. Lynch has been supplying the Indians with guns and ammunition, and Rod follows him from the camp, capturing the gang. Rod brings the gang into town to hold them until the cavalry arrives in town to escort them back to the stockade. One of Lynch's men sees the arrest and summons the Indians to their rescue. They release Lynch's gang and capture Rod and his girl friend, Joan Temple. Wichita witnesses the capture and, when Lynch sends the Indians to break the telegraph line, helps Rod escape from the Indian camp. The cavalry finally returns to their base, arriving just in time to rescue the telegraph workers from an Indian attack. Rod notices Lynch escape and captures him personally. When the railroad comes to town, Rod gets a Congressional medal and is made a colonel.
