Volatile convict Harry Lomart is planning an escape with fellow prisoner Birdy Williams when he learns that his wife Pat has been having an affair with another man and is pregnant. Harry and Birdy successfully break out of prison and had planned on laying low until they could get out of the country, but Harry's rage over Pat's cheating takes precedence over the plan and he goes after her and her boyfriend, intent on killing them.
