Synopsis

Surrounded by undernourished men in the shirt factory where she works, Sadie Hicks dreams of a husband with a size 44 chest. As a result, she slips a love note into a shipment of 44's and waits for a reply. The shirts mistakenly go to millionaire John Stoddard, who, for the fun of it, responds to Sadie's letter. Sadie then immediately leaves the factory to go to John, and the two of them soon fall in love, even though he is not quite her physical ideal. John's friend Larry Livingston, however, tells Sadie that if she really loves John, she will allow him to marry a woman from his own class. Sadie agrees and leaves town, but John goes looking for her, and when he finds her, he insists that they begin making plans for their marriage.
