Biography

Toni Kalem began her entertainment career as a seven-year-old child actress. Early on in her acting career, Kalem landed roles in various films, including the dramatic adaptation "The Wanderers" (1979) with Ken Wahl, the comedy "Private Benjamin" (1980) with Goldie Hawn and the comedy "Paternity" (1981) with Burt Reynolds. She also appeared in the Jill Clayburgh dramatic adaptation "I'm Dancing As Fast As I Can" (1982). She continued to work steadily in film throughout the eighties, appearing in the Chuck Norris drama "Silent Rage" (1982), the John Travolta comedy "Two of A Kind" (1983) and "Reckless" (1984) with Aidan Quinn. Film continued to be her passion as she played roles in the action movie "American Strays" (1996) with Jennifer Tilly and the action film "15 Minutes" (2001) with Robert De Niro. She held additional roles in television including a part on "Picket Fences" (CBS, 1992-96). She also was featured in the TV movie "The Odd Couple: Together Again" (CBS, 1993-94). Most recently, Kalem wrote "The Big C" (Showtime, 2009-2013).
